The Vu has become an extremely popular wedding venue and so we were there twice in one week this month. Kayleigh and Jamie were married there on another windy, but nice and bright day, at the start of July.
We were photographing the whole event for them so we started off at each of their parents houses as they got themselves ready for their big day. It was a lovely relaxed morning and there weren't too many signs of nerves, so all was good. The morning photographs are often some of our favourites from the day as it's a great chance to capture the details which so much thought has gone into, personalised items and just the excitement of what is about to happen.
Melanie Leckie, as always, delivered a fantastic wedding ceremony and we highly recommend her if you are looking for a humanist!
The family photographs were mainly taken on the lawn and although it was a bit blustery and Jamie's mum's hat blew away they went well. Thanks to the hero who retrieved the hat before it went completely in the water!
We love Kayleigh and Jamie's bridal portraits on the pier. They were totally up for getting some lovely pictures and it always makes our job easier when the couple are as invested in getting beautiful photographs as we are.
After their portraits Kayleigh and Jamie mingled with guests and were entertained by a magician who managed to make Jamie's new wedding ring disappear in front of their eyes and completely baffle everyone.
The speeches had all emotions from crying to laughter to crying with laughter! A special mention went to Kayleigh's dad who unfortunately died when she was young but was very much in their thoughts all day.
The beautiful wedding cake was made by Alison Cowan of Cowan's Cakes. She's made lots of the cakes at weddings we've photographed and she also comes highly recommended by us! She's a lovely lady as well as an amazing baker and artist.
The evening provided a gorgeous sky for more pictures. Here are some of our favourites from the day.
