We first met Katy and her parents two years ago when they saw photos we had done for a mutual friend. Katy was eight at the time and we went to Muiravonside country park for a nice relaxed shoot. Katy wore a pretty white dress and was fantastic at taking direction and posing for us.
For this shoot, Mum wanted something a bit different and she had seen photos of our own son we'd done in Glasgow and asked if we could do something similar for Katy. We thought this was a great idea because it meant that this set would be completely different to her first shoot with us. Two years is a good amount of time too to see a real difference between the photos.
We really enjoyed the challenge of thinking outside the box for this portrait shoot and it was completely different for us doing street photography rather than in a park. Once Katy got over the shyness of being in full view of everyone walking past and taking a nosy at what we were doing, she was fantastic again at doing anything we asked of her. Thanks also to her Mum, Laura, for giving us free reign over her photos.
We started off in the streets around Candleriggs and then went into Merchant Square for a hot chocolate. Here are some of our favourites.
Thanks again Katy for being so good, we hope you love your images and we'll look forward to seeing you again in a couple of years!
