December weddings are always gorgeous, and Michelle and John's was particularly beautiful. They got married at the Dunblane Hydro on 10th December and it was a really lovely day. We were lucky with a small break in the weather to get outside for some bridal portraits with them.
The day started off at Lumia Spa in Bridge of Allan as the girls had hair and make up done before driving over to finish off their prep at the hotel. Lesley from Point Nouveau Bridal in Dunfermline came along to dress Michelle and she looked amazing in her gown!
It was a lovely ceremony conducted by Melanie Leckie where we heard all about how they met and got to know their story. The huge Christmas tree and lanterns lining the aisle really set the mood and Michelle and John even had their first kiss under some mistletoe.
After the signing of the register we went outside to make the most of the daylight we had left and a break in the rain to take some romantic bridal portraits. We did only get about 20 minutes with them before the rain started but we're really happy with what we achieved in that time.
It was then time for the formal group photos before everyone was called through to dinner. We loved the room set up with another Christmas tree with photos of the couple hanging on the branches and little stockings as the favours on the tables. There was even a gingerbread house along with the wedding cake. The big surprise for the guests was that Santa interrupted John's speech to hand out some special gifts. He made quite an entrance!
Nighttime entertainment was provided by the ever fantastic band Ernest who we just love. The dance floor was full and everyone was having an amazing time.
Here is their story in pictures.
