The first of our two weddings last weekend was with Laura and Stuart at Airth Castle. It's a venue we've been to a fair bit now, and we've lots more booked in there over the next couple of years. We really enjoy Airth Castle, everything always runs smoothly and master of ceremonies Hugh is fantastic!
Our morning started off with a bit of panic as Laura phoned to say that best man James had been admitted to hospital for a burst appendix the week before and had only been released as a special circumstance the night before the wedding. He was at Laura's parents house and so he went with Bryan over to Airth Castle once he'd dropped me off (sorry about the mess of the car James - 3 kids!!) However that wasn't our only mishap as we came across a road closure and diversion through some long windy country roads on the way to Laura's parents in Livingston - you know how long a sat nav takes to reroute and reassure us we were on the right track!! Well, we made it and all was well from then on.
It was another beautiful service conducted by Melanie Leckie. We really are fans of hers and we've booked her for our own vow renewal in 2018, she's one of the best :)
Groups and bridal portraits followed. It was a bit of a crazy weather day with lots of wind and rain, so we had to do the groups indoors which was fine as there was a beautiful big empty room for us to use. The rain went off for a few minutes so we got everyone outside on the steps and then maybe 10 minutes maximum with just Laura and Stuart on their own.
The speeches were great and then it was a big party at night!
Here's some of our favourite images from the day.
